Uncover a little-known wonder in the Caribbean: Nevis, sister island to St. Kitts in the tradewind-kissed Leeward Islands. Bask in near-perfect weather, steps from the silken sand. Find tranquility in the award-winning spa. Or play golf amidst the dramatic views of one of the world's most scenic courses.
The name "Nevis" was derived from the Spanish word "nieve," which means snow. This name was given to the island by Christopher Columbus when he discovered it in 1492, due to the clouds on top of the mountain that he could see as he approached it.
This unspoiled island offers visitors the opportunity to experience the Caribbean as it should be. The climate is consistently pleasant and there are no monolithic hotel complexes, congested beaches or frantic commercial centres. In fact, the government does not allow buildings to be taller than two storeys so that they will not be higher than the canopy cover of the palm trees.
